Conservation & Education

In the British Isles we have 4 species of grouse- Black grouse, Red Grouse, Ptarmigan and Capercaillie.

To some degree all of these species are under threat due to a number of factors, habitat loss being the main factor. Out of the 4 species of grouse the capercaillie is the most under threat from disappearing from our countryside.

Our aim is to in some way help bring awareness to grouse conservation and by helping others to breed these birds in captivity for release and repopulation and through education (school/group/individual visits, art projects etc) we hope to achieve this.

We also want to give people who have never seen grouse in the wild the opportunity to experience their beauty and character up close.
